Book Chelle

Love Remains - Kaye Dacus The book starts with a group of best friends who conspire to play match-makers with their own grandchildren. This starts the premise for the book and the series. We meet Bobby and Zarah. Two people who met early, fourteen years earlier, fell in love, and suddenly had their relationship come to a complete stop. The book premise is fourteen years later, when Bobby is relocated to be closer to his family. This is also where Zarah is also residing. With living in a small town and with being in the same social circles, they both have to deal with the past to live civilly in the present. I was drawn to this book by the cover. I then noticed the name of the series and thought about the promise this book has. The author includes the basics of a good story: a troubled past, a chance reconnection, a present dilemma, and a happy ending. In between these items, she includes emotion that you can't help but feel. She puts you in the minds of these two main characters really well. She also throws moral lessons and Christian values into the mix. You get a little of everything for your mind and your soul.It took me a few days to read this. There were some parts that I was able to read quickly, and some parts that dragged for me. Overall I liked the story and the characters. I would be interested in reading the follow up book.
